Looking for a guilt-free craving kicker? Have we got something for you, some delicious homemade energy balls!
Taking Australia by storm we'll be the first to admit we're a little late to the party, but rest assured, we believe we have the yummiest, freshest ingredients, placing our's a class above the rest.
Let's get down to business:
What you'll need -
Dried Fruit -1 Cup - Working as a deliciously naturally sweet base, dried fruit makes up the majority of most traditional energy balls. Opting usually for Medjool Dates or Sultanas, other dried fruits such as Figs, Apricots, Dried Blueberries etc. also work well! These can of course be found on Nuts About Life here!
Nut Butters - 1 Cup - Naturally high in protein and helping to stick all this goodness together, nut butters are the perfect addition to any energy ball recipe. Peanut butter is the usual suspect, however we are proud to host a wide variety of butters including cashew, almond and more!
All-Natural Sweetener (To Bind Ingredients) - 1/2 Cup - We go for all-natural to give any added sugars a miss. Working as a bonding agent for the ingredients sweeteners such as honey or maple syrup work a treat!
Mix-Ins- 1/2 Cup - This is where the 'ball is in your court' (get it?) - basically we encourage you to let your creativity get the best of you, Chia Seeds, Linseed, Almonds, Coconut, Chocolate, Spirulina anything works here and gives some variety to your balls!
Place ingredients in a food processor (Fruit Ninja or Nutra-Bullet work great) and blend together until a paste is formed.
- Using a spoon, scoop out the dough and roll into a ball.
- Store balls on baking paper in the freezer for 15-20 minutes until they solidify slightly.
And that's it! As easy as that and your making Energy Balls just like the pro's!
